Dungeons of Aion 2: Complete Overview

Every kind of instanced content in the Aion 2 EU client: 5-player party dungeons, 10-player raids, matchmade dungeons with up to six difficulties, Awakening trials, the Boss Challenge and story layers, and which ones are open in the launch build.

Sur cette page

The EU/NA client contains 733 dungeon records, but that number includes every solo story layer and quest instance. The content you'll actually form groups for is a much shorter list. Here is the full breakdown, with real names, party sizes, entry requirements and difficulties from the dungeon database.

Open vs. not open yet

The EU/NA client keeps many entrances locked, so those dungeons or difficulties aren't open on EU/NA yet. This guide marks them clearly, and we'll update the lists when a client patch opens them.

Strategy guides for each dungeon

This page maps the whole ladder. For a single dungeon, its strategy guide goes boss by boss: what each boss does in the game client's own data, what to do about it, and which rewards are worth the run.

How dungeons are organized

Every instance in the game data has a type (party, raid, matchmade, story layer…), a party size range, an entrance with a minimum level and usually an item-level bar, and often several difficulty versions. On this site each difficulty is its own entry, grouped by name, so every loot table matches its difficulty.

Party dungeons (up to 5 players)

The classic 5-player content. Levels and item levels are the entrance requirements in the EU/NA client:

DungeonOpen nowNot open yet
Grotte de KraoEasy (Lv 20, iLv 200), Normal (Lv 45, iLv 700)third difficulty
Canyon UruguguEasy (Lv 28, iLv 300), Normal (Lv 45, iLv 1400)third difficulty
Temple Divin du FeuEasy (Lv 35, iLv 500), Normal (Lv 45, iLv 2100)third difficulty
DraupnirEasy and Normal (Lv 45, iLv 700)third difficulty
Île Céleste de VakronEasy and Normal (Lv 45, iLv 1400)third difficulty
Grotte de la Corne FéroceEasy and Normal (Lv 45, iLv 2100)third difficulty
Base de Recherche DeusHard (Lv 45)Easy

Nid du Dramata Mort—Easy, Normal, Advanced
Berceau du Néant—Easy, Normal, Advanced

Île du Souffle Azuré—Easy, Normal, Advanced
Citadelle du Daeva déchu—Easy, Normal, Advanced
Temple Divin de la Vie Englouti—Hard
Miroir de l'Affection Rouge—Hard
Antre de la Corne abyssale—Hard

Names like Fire Temple and Draupnir are deliberate callbacks, and Aion veterans will recognize several of them right away. Many of these dungeons allow entry with fewer than five players (Krao Cave, Fire Temple, Draupnir and Ferocious Horn Den from one player; others from two).

Raids (10 players)

Raids are fixed 10-player content:

Matchmade dungeons (1–4 players, deep difficulty ladders)

These dungeons are built for the group finder: 1–4 players, all opening at level 45, with the longest difficulty ladders in the game. Every difficulty is open in this build:

These are your repeatable difficulty-push content: the same map with harder mechanics and better rewards at each step. Expect your weekly planning to revolve around the highest difficulty you can clear.

Awakening trials (solo difficulty gauntlets)

A set of solo instances, each existing in several versions: Nightmare Altar, Tyrant's Hideout, Sanctum of Loathing and Depository of Fates have six (Easy, Normal, Hard, Challenge, Insane, Hell), and Forgotten Repository and Chamber of the Dead add a seventh, Doom. In this build Easy to Challenge open at level 45 (item level 1000, 1500, 2000 and 2500). Insane, Hell and Doom are not open on EU/NA yet. They are listed under the Awaken type in the dungeon list.

Boss Challenge: the Nightmare ladder

Separate from dungeons proper, the game has a Boss Challenge system: 26 Nightmare bosses in four tiers, each with 10 levels. The roster starts with Pinopi le gardien des portes, Feruk furieux, Sang toxique de Fafnir and Giselle le spectre hostile, and climbs to tier-four bosses like Désir de Kromede and Athéron élevé. Each level has its own rewards, which makes it a solo power benchmark you'll keep coming back to.

Daily and growth dungeons

Story layers and quest instances

Most of those 733 records are instance layers (220) and quest instances (103): private slices of the open world, like Forêt de Daminu in the Elyos campaign, that open for you or your party during quests. Another 162 are small Seal instances scattered around the zones. They're all in the database because their loot and NPCs are real, but nobody will ask you to "farm" one.

Field events and the Abyss

Two more instance types round out the picture. Field events (84 records, including Beritra Air Raid, Accursed Sword, Defend Shugo Merchants and the Shugo Festival minigames) are public objectives that start in the open world. The Abyss instances of Reshanta belong to the faction war rather than to the PvE ladder: Reshanta Inférieur du Chaos, Reshanta Intermédiaire du Chaos and Reshanta supérieure chaotique are where PvE and PvP stop being separate games. Their times are on the event timer.

Where to start

  1. Run each leveling dungeon on Easy as you reach it. Entry is cheap and first clears pay well.
  2. At 45, set up your weekly loop: the highest matchmade and Awakening difficulty you can clear, the Ludra raid, and Boss Challenge pushes.
  3. Read the strategy guide of a dungeon before your first run, and check its database entry before you push a difficulty. Entries list the scoring rules and reward tables for each difficulty.

Names, difficulties, party sizes and entrance requirements come from the EU/NA client. A client patch can open more of the ladder, and we re-check after every patch.

The game data on Aion2.gg comes from the EU/NA game client, version 2.0.7.0 (Steam build 25926599), extracted on October 16, 2026.
