Aion 2 Alts and Rerolls: What's Shared, What to Farm

Main first, then alts: what Aion 2 shares on a server and keeps per character, how alts feed your main, which content to run on them and a weekly plan.

On this page

A second character can double some of your weekly income and none of the rest. The difference comes down to one question: does the game count a limit per character or per server? This guide sorts the two using the EU/NA client data, then turns the result into a plan for alts and for switching class.

Data and advice

Limits, prices and rules on this page come from the EU/NA client files. Lines marked Advice are our recommendations, not game rules. Weekly counters refill on Wednesday. The client doesn't give a time zone for the reset hour, so track your characters on the checklist. On this page, per server means shared by all of your characters on that server, never with other players.

At a glance

  1. Main first. Advice: get one character to level 45 and into a weekly routine before you start a second one. The shared counters go to whichever character uses them first, and an alt adds nothing for the main until it can farm.
  2. One server, one shared pool. Characters on the same server share Server Storage, the membership, the Closet and pet collections, Theostones, Empyrean Trace resonance and attendance. Elyos and Asmodians play on separate servers, so an alt of the other faction shares none of it.
  3. Progression points stay put. Each character earns its own skill points, Daevanion Crystals and Stigma Shards. The items that grant them can't go into Server Storage.
  4. Some limits multiply, some don't. Odyle Energy, Abyss hours, Nightmare and weekly boss kills belong to each character. Daily Dungeon entries, festival and invasion keys, the unclaimed-cube count and "Per Server" shop goods are shared by all your characters on the server.
  5. What an alt sends home: crafting materials, Lesser Abyssal Manastones and Soulstones, Amplify Stone Fragments, and gear that nobody has Soul Bound yet.
  6. A reroll redoes every per-character source. Stay on your server, and hand gear over before you Soul Bind it.

Slots, servers and factions

  • Every server gives you 4 character slots. Each Atreian Pledge of Allegiance (Bound) (1,000 Quna in the cash shop, at most 4 per server) opens one more, so one server holds up to 8 characters.
  • Elyos and Asmodian servers are separate, and storage, slots, the membership and the shared counters all belong to a server. Advice: make the alt your main's faction on the same server if it should feed the main; pick the other faction only for a clean second start. The server list shows which server is which.
  • Deleting is possible from level 10. It becomes permanent after a 7-day grace period and takes the character's items with it. The client refuses while the character is in a Legion, has a pending Legion application or has unclaimed storage items.

Limits each alt gets on its own

  • Odyle Energy: +15 every 3 hours (120 a day), capped at 560, or 840 with the membership. Exploration cubes cost 20–40, Conquest and Transcendence cubes 40.
  • Exploration reward count: 7 a week per dungeon.
  • Conquest and Transcendence: reward counts (+3 and +2 a day) and final-boss kills (35 and 28 a week).
  • Nightmare: 2 attempts a day, stored up to 14. See Nightmare.
  • Ascension Trial: 3 entries a week. See Ascension Trial.
  • Abyss: 7 hours a week in each of the Lower, Middle and Upper Abyss (the membership doubles the Middle and Upper hours).
  • Sanctuary (Abyssal Forge: Ludra): 4 attempts and 1 final-boss kill a week.
  • Shugo Festival: a per-character key (4 a day, up to 28), next to the server key below.
  • Shop goods marked Per Character, such as the Abyss Points shop's weekly manastones.

Limits all your characters on a server share

  • Daily Dungeon (Unknown Fissure): 14 entries a week.
  • Shugo Festival Reward Key: 3 a day, capped at 12 (21 with the membership).
  • Dimensional Invasion Reward Key: 1 a day, capped at 7.
  • [Conquest/Transcendence] Remaining Unobtained Cube Count: 10 a week. It drops each time a character clears Conquest or Transcendence and leaves without opening the cube. At 0, none of your characters on that server can enter either mode until the reset.
  • Shop goods marked Per Server, for example Potential Stone: Abyss (Unique) (Bound) in the Abyss Points shop (2 + 4 + 6 + 8 a week across its four prices).
  • Duty Quests whose daily cap is tagged Per Server, and the Substance Morph recipe that recharges Odyle Energy (16 a week).
  • Cube Kina. Kina from Odyle Energy Cubes shrinks as the server's weekly play count for that mode grows. Exploration pays full Kina for the server's first 7 plays of the week, 60% for the next 7, 20% for the 7 after that and nothing beyond 21. Conquest keeps full Kina for the first 84 plays and Transcendence for the first 56; after that both drop 20 points per step, down to 20%.

The client also caps unbound Kina at 1,000,000 a day (the "Daily Gain Limit"). It doesn't say whether that cap is per character or per server.

The unopened-cube trap

An alt that clears Conquest or Transcendence without the Odyle Energy to open the cube spends the server's unclaimed-cube count. After ten of those in a week, your main can't enter either mode until Wednesday. Advice: on an alt, only enter when you can open the cube.

Moving items between your characters

Server Storage is the only dependable bridge. Player mail carries text only. The Market depends on the Special Quai Membership, and Personal Trade may not exist on EU/NA servers, so don't build an alt plan on either. An item's tooltip says "Can be placed in Server Storage" when it fits, and our item pages show the same flag.

Goes into Server Storage:

Stays on the character that earned it:

Once a character Soul Binds a piece of gear, no other character can Soul Bind it, use it as a crafting material or use it for Gear Transfer. Advice: decide who gets a piece before anyone binds it.

Server Storage starts at 25 slots. Kina buys up to 31 more lines of 5 slots, from 1,000 Kina for the first to 8,400,000 for the last (31,712,000 in all). A Server Storage Expansion Voucher (200 Quna, 20 per server) adds a line too. Remote Storage, which opens storage anywhere, comes with the Special Quai Membership.

How alts feed the main

  1. Exploration materials. Exploration opens at level 20 with Krao Cave (item level 200), so an alt helps long before 45. Its cubes run on the alt's own Odyle Energy and can drop tradable crafting materials: the Refining Stone tiers up to Artisan's Ultimate Refining Stone, plus Balaur's Essence and Wrathful Mind. Artisan's Ultimate Refining Stone and Wrathful Mind both go into crafted Dragon Lord gear; the crafting calculator has the recipes. Expect materials more than Kina: the server's play count cuts Exploration Kina after 7 plays a week.
  2. Abyss Points into manastones. At 45 each alt has its own Abyss hours and its own weekly Abyss shop limits: 50 Lesser Abyssal Manastone (Bound) at 1,000 Abyss Points and 50 Lesser Abyssal Soulstone (Bound) at 2,000. Both move to the main through Server Storage. Buy Potential Stone: Abyss (Unique) (Bound) on the main instead, because its weekly limit is shared by the server and the stone can't be moved.
  3. Nightmare into Amplify Stone Fragments. Nightmare (level 45) pays Phantasmal Fragments, and the Nightmare Trade Shop sells Amplify Stone Fragment (Unique) (Bound) for 500 of them. The fragment can be moved to the main.
  4. Gear it won't wear. Drops go into Server Storage for the main, as long as the alt doesn't Soul Bind them.
  5. Collections. Closet skins, pets, Theostones and Empyrean Trace resonance belong to the server, so what the alt adds there counts for the main too.

The alt's own Wisdom Stones and Daevanion Crystals only ever help the alt.

Which content to run on alts

Advice, built on the limits above:

ContentOn alts?Why
Daily Dungeon (Unknown Fissure)Main only14 entries a week for all your characters on the server
Shugo Festival and Dimensional Invasion server keysMain firstShared server keys
ExplorationYesOwn energy and reward counts; the materials can be moved
Conquest and TranscendenceOnly if you open every cubeUnopened cubes drain a server-wide 10 a week
NightmareYes, once a week2 a day, stored up to 14; fragments buy Amplify Stone Fragments
AbyssYes, at 45Own 7 hours per layer and its own manastone purchases
Ascension TrialOnce geared3 entries a week; Easy needs item level 1,000
Sanctuary (Ludra)Only a geared altItem level 2,800 and a 10-player group
Regional quests and Sealed DungeonsYes, while levelingOne-time skill and Daevanion points for that alt

A weekly plan

Advice. Each alt only needs a short session every few days.

WhenMainEach alt
Every daySpend Odyle Energy (3 cubes at 40), 2 Nightmare attempts, 2 Daily Dungeon entries, the server keys, Duty QuestsNothing required
Every 3–4 daysLog in before Odyle Energy caps (560 is about 4.7 days of refill), spend it in Exploration, deposit the materials
Wednesday onwardAscension Trial ×3, Sanctuary, Abyss hours, Per Server shop goods
Before the next WednesdayCollect everything from Server StorageNightmare (up to 14 stored), Abyss hours and manastone buys, Ascension Trial if geared

The checklist tracks several characters and the server-shared counters side by side.

Rerolling: changing your main class

Before you reroll. Skill and specialty resets are free, and Daevanion resets cost 500 Kina per node, so a new build doesn't need a new character. Reroll for a different class. Compare classes first with the Class Finder, the overview of all nine classes and the skill planner.

What the new character redoes:

  • Levels 1 to 45: 754,816,909 EXP. The leveling priorities and the 1–45 speedrun keep it short.
  • The one-time point sources: 58 Regional quests with a Wisdom Stone and a Daevanion Crystal each, and 60 home Sealed Dungeons with 2 of each per clear. With level-ups, that is about 383 skill points and 316 Daevanion Crystals by level 45, all earned again.
  • Ascension grade 3, which every stigma needs. Elyos earn it with The One Who Hears the Voice, Asmodians with their own version of it, The One Who Hears the Voice.
  • The Ascension Gauge gates on the Episode story.

What carries over on the same server: everything in Server Storage, gear that nobody has Soul Bound, the collections and the membership. The old main's Soul Bound gear, points, titles and Legion stay with it.

The client contains text for a paid Class Change service, but the EU/NA shop data has no Class Change product. Don't wait for it.

Advice: level the new class as an alt while the old main keeps its weekly routine, and switch once the alt reaches the same item-level gates. Keep the old character afterwards: it becomes your first farming alt.
