Wings, Flight & Wing Enhancement

Wings are Aion's signature, and in Aion 2 they are more than transport: wings are an equippable gear slot with combat stats and their own grades. The EU/NA client lists 28 wing designs, each in an Elyos and an Asmodian version. Here is how the system works, straight from the wing database.

Flight basics

You get two movement skills from the air during the early campaign: Glide, which lets you travel sideways off any height for free, and real Flight. Time in the air uses Flight Power (FP), a resource that drains while you fly. The client has several ways to refill it, from natural regeneration to Flight Circles you fly through ("Recover Flight Power when passing through a Flight Circle").

Your equipped wings are the main way to grow that pool: every wing's effect line includes a Flight Power bonus. More Flight Power means longer flights and more of the map you can reach without landing.

Wings as gear

Wings come in grades like any other equipment. The 28 designs break down into 13 Unique, 7 Epic, 4 Rare, 3 Special and 1 Common, from the humble Aullaeu Wings up to endgame pairs.

A concrete example of a combat wing: Brawler Wings (Unique) have a base stat block of 3% Status Effect Resist, 3% Status Effect Chance, 500 HP and 400 Defense Bonus. Their effect line adds 2.5% Status Effect Chance, 1% PvP Damage Boost, 100 PvP Defense and 200 Flight Power. Other Unique wings trade these for offense or utility; compare the stat lines on each wing's page, which also has a 3D preview. Unique pairs in the EU client include Nightmare Wings, Forest Spirit Wings and the Ultimate Daeva Wings.

Wing enhancement: what the EU client contains

The client's wing enhance tables define three ten-step ladders:

• Rare and Epic ladders: every step succeeds 100% of the time. These are pure material sinks.
• Unique ladder: the first three steps succeed 100% of the time, then the odds drop: 90% at +4, 80% at +5, 50% from +6 to +8, 40% at +9 and 30% at +10.

The effect tables also say what each step would add. On the Brawler Wings' effect line, each level adds +10 Flight Power, from 200 at +0 to 300 at +10. The other bonuses on that line stay the same at every level.

The pity system

The Unique ladder has an explicit failure-correction ("pity") value: every failed attempt adds +10% to the next attempt's success chance, up to 100%. So a 30% attempt at +10 is really a limited series of tries, and the step lands within a few attempts at worst.

Getting wings

Your first wings come with Ascension in the campaign. The wing data also groups later wings by source: dungeons, gathering, shops and events. Substance Morph (the client's material conversion system) has a dedicated Wing tab with 8 recipes per faction. Each wing's database page lists its sources where the client data has them.

Practical priorities

1. Equip the best combat wing you can. The base stat lines are free power.
2. Compare effect lines, not just grades. A wing's PvP or status-effect bonuses can matter more to your build than its grade.
3. Chasing a look: every wing page has a 3D preview. Browse the wing database before you farm for one.
