Though Nemon had brought an end to her ill-fated association with Gerod, High Priest Hystan's Fafnite had already been handed over to a Mau tribe serving the Balaur. This could be your last chance. You must reclaim High Priest Hystan's Fafnite before the Balaur get their claws on it again.
After completion (spoilers)
"A ritualist called Amunta is leading a breakaway faction called the Daybreak Society." Crobakhi informed you of a split among the Mau. Ritualist Amunta and the Daybreak Society harbored strong resentment toward the Balaur. Hoping to gain their support, you searched for their hideout, but found it deserted and in disarray. Soon after, Daybreak Society members mistook you for Amunta's kidnappers and attacked. A scuffle broke out, but Popokiki stepped in and helped resolve the misunderstanding. After hearing what had happened, they agreed to let you help rescue Amunta.
